TOGETHER WE CARE

How do you define the people of God without a space, a corporate gathering, or organized programs of ministry? This season has been one that has left us feeling disconnected from each other, from vision, maybe even from the purposes of God in our life. We need to look no further than to the word of God that shows God's people were never defined by a place, but by His presence and purpose in worship, community, and mission. From cover to cover the scripture speaks of a people who through trial and scattering TOGETHER sought God's presence and His purposes. TOGETHER through acts of CARE for their communities and through sending out missionaries to start and strengthen churches expressed God's CARE for all peoples. They sought the welfare of the city, fed the hungry, clothed the poor, visited those in prison, shared the gospel, and supported their brothers and sisters in need. Motivated by the Gospel, they were moved to CARE.


Today, we continue God's working as His people. We look back to connect to what He has done and we look forward toward each of His promises. TOGETHER we are not disconnected, we are of one mind, one heart, one mission. TOGETHER WE CARE for OUR COMMUNITY and TOGETHER WE CARE for THE NATIONS. TOGETHER WE CARE.

IS THIS A NEW RHYTHM?

In this season of COVID-19 and all of its implications on our lives, we are seeking to cultivate authentic and organic mission. This season may not be marked by your participation in a short term mission trip or in one of our normal rhythms of connecting with a Local Ministry Partner, but it is no less missional! TOGETHER through our personal Gospel sharing, life group outreach, and generous giving, MISSION IS EXPANDING!

  • 1. ME (I CARE)

    TOGETHER each of us are called by God to take the good news of Jesus that has come to us and to invest it into others. We want to work to resource and help you grow in both call and confidence. An incredible resource is WE ARE: A Study of the Missional Identity of the Church of God. TOGETHER we are heeding the call to care for our neighbors by investing the gospel into their lives this season.

  • 2. LIFE GROUPS (WE CARE)

    TOGETHER every LIFE GROUP is INITIATED with the value of living with PASSIONATE PURPOSE and to see EXPANDING DISCIPLESHIP!


    We are excited to announce MICRO GRANTS that every ICC Life Group can apply for. Together we as a church will invest through each life group into every community in our city through practical acts of service for our neighbors, schools, the elderly, and the less fortunate, and many, many more.

    BIG DREAMS take BIG VISION! Through investing together into some large scale COMMUNITY CARES PROJECTS and GLOBAL CARES PROJECTS this season we will flood our community and communities around the globe with blessing and gospel ministry.


    Every week we will be celebrating TOGETHER through the generous giving of our church family the realization of these BIG DREAM projects that have come from our Global Missions and Local Ministry Partners. 


    We hope you will choose to invest and to even give sacrificially above and beyond your tithe this season to see these huge blessings come to life.

Addressing the Need You See

Do you drive past homeless and want to care for them appropriately? Do you see kids in the area who need some food assistance? Have you noticed that neighbors don't engage with each other and want to foster positive community? Are you surrounded by non-believers and want to be able to share the Gospel more directly?


We can help you host a popsicle social, a bounce house party (for the kids), organize food bags for kids, or building homeless care kits to help get them to shelters. We'll work with you to make these real! 


Other Life Group Opportunities

  • Organizing a neighborhood block party where you can develop relationships with non-believers with the intention of sharing the Gospel through that relationship.
  • Creating a tutoring program for neighborhood kids.
  • Community development through cultivating active participation and contribution amongst local members of a community to promote its flourishing.
  • Building care packages for our partners and missionaries overseas.
  • Keeping a local neighborhood’s parks clean, safe, and exhibiting God’s beauty.
  • Buying and delivering groceries to refugees and international students.
  • Creating a community garden that unites residents of a local neighborhood.
  • Pioneering a program to provide safe rides home from local bars.
  • Resourcing the church with Homeless Care Bags, that would have personal care essentials as well as encouraging scripture cards.
  • Building/Distributing food or snack
  • Establishing a tutoring program for GED, literacy classes, or ESL classes.

Life Group Grants are not designed to be used for:

  • Events that are exclusively intended to gather or support those who are already followers of Jesus.
  • Fundraisers for, or ongoing organizational support of, 501(c) 3 non-profit organizations.
  • Production costs for art such as films, studio music, or publishing.
  • Personal salaries or expense funds of individuals.  
  • Campaigns for political candidates.

GLOBAL CARES PROJECTS

Even though our ability has been limited to jump on a plane and fly around the world to be physically present in God's global work, His mission has not slowed! Through the investment of our church throughout this season our partners are being supported as they build homes, host clinics, train pastors, care for widows, and most importantly share the gospel as they go! 


These things are made possible through your generous giving. TOGETHER WE CARE! More than ever we are depending on the work of joining our resources TOGETHER for the spread of the gospel among the unreached peoples of the world!

Create a Care Package

When we are able to go, one of the sweet ways we are able to serve our mission partners is by carrying goodies and gifts our mission partners don’t have access to in their countries. This season, we are going to send care packages as a way to love and serve our partners even while we cannot go in person.


Operation Christmas Child Box Packing Parties

Each shoebox you pack helps a local church around the world tell a child about Jesus, God’s Greatest Gift. Many of them will grow in their faith and learn how to tell friends and family about Him through a discipleship program called The Greatest Journey. Together, with your Life Group, gather supplies and gifts for your boxes and join us for special box packing parties this fall!  We will learn how God is using Operation Christmas Child to spread the Gospel, explore the cultures of the destination nations, and celebrate together God’s Greatest Gift while we pack our boxes to send to children around the world.


Address the Need You See

  Do you live in a complex or neighborhood with many immigrants and want to build relationships with them?  Do you have a heart for refugees, international students, or immigrant professionals?  We would love to support your life group as you seek to serve the nations among us!  Whether it is buying groceries for at-risk immigrants, growing in the ability to share the Gospel with other cultures, hosting a popsicle pop-up with the Mempops truck in your neighborhood or complex, or your own idea for reaching and serving immigrants, we want to help you bring these ideas to life!
