together we care!

In this season of COVID-19 and all of its implications on our lives, we are seeking to cultivate authentic and organic mission. This season may not be marked by your participation in one of our normal rhythms of connecting with a Local Ministry Partner, but it is no less missional! TOGETHER through our personal Gospel sharing, life group outreach, and generous giving, MISSION IS EXPANDING!

LOCAL MINISTRY

We bring help and hope to our community.

We desire to serve and bless our immediate community, bringing help and hope to as many people as we can.  Part of reaching our community for Christ is finding ways to serve our community and show the love of Christ in practical, meaningful ways. At ICC, we work to develop strong community partnerships with groups and organizations in our community we feel called to serve.

Memphis Athletic Ministry

SUMMER SERVE: We'd love to have you join us serving in Uptown!  We'll have several different opportunities this summer, ranging from prayer walks, backyard bible camps, and of course, serving with MAM. Click here to sign-up to serve.

AFTER COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS: Third Friday Each Month, 5:30pm. M.A.M. provides after-school care for kids in inner city Memphis. MAM’s mission is to help build godly youth in under-resourced neighborhoods by teaching them to love God, love others and love themselves.

Join us as we partner with Memphis Athletic Ministries the third Friday of every month at Greenlaw Place to love and mentor the kids in the Uptown neighborhood. There will be plenty of fun, smiles and laughter; all we need is you! What does Friday night look like? It starts with a quick dinner with casual conversation. Followed by either games in the gym or craft time, during this time there will be a devotional which is what the whole night is structured around. You can make a huge difference in a child's life as you take time to get to know them and love them as God has loved us. You may be the very mentor they need. Our monthly ministry time with M.A.M. meets at Greenlaw Community Center in Uptown (190 Mill Avenue, 38105).

Glenmary Retirement Community

SUMMER SERVE: Join us as we provide support and care for our friends at the Glenmary.  The residents have been completely isolated from friends, family, and loved ones during this season of COVID-19 precautions. We'd like to continue connecting each resident with a "buddy" to show them that they are not alone.  Without intentional care, this population is most at risk for being lonely and forgotten. Click here to sign-up to serve. Contact Chris Memminger, our Local Ministry Interim Director, at chris@iccmemphis.com for more information.

AFTER COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS: First Tuesday Each Month, 6:00pm. Provide fun, laughter, and meaningful relationships through playing trivia and cultivating friendship with retirement community residents.

Every month, ICC spends our first Tuesday hosting Trivia Night for residents of the Glenmary Retirement Home in Midtown. Our time with the residents begins at 6:00pm. Trivia Night is consistently one of the most anticipated events for residents of the Glenmary, many of whom cannot get out on their own. It provides a unique environment where we can love, laugh, eat and spend time with others who desperately need company and friendship. The Glenmary is located at 1550 North Parkway in Midtown (38112). Please join us and realize the potential you have been given to impact others' lives for the glory of God.

St. Jude Target House

SUMMER SERVE: If you have a heart for the hurting and sick, sign up to serve with our St. Jude Target House team.  We'll be meeting regularly to pray, serve, and plan for caring for the children and families who are at St. Jude Target House. Click here to sign-up to serve. Contact Chris Memminger, our Local Ministry Interim Director, at chris@iccmemphis.com for more information.

AFTER COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS: Third Monday Each Month, 6:00pm. Serve families staying at Target House, a long-term housing facility for families going through treatment at St. Jude. Provide crafts, dinner, and hope to families.

Working with the Target House has been a part of ICC's identity for a very long time. Providing a consistent group of people to host meals, play games, and facilitate crafts has proven to be valuable to the staff, families, and kids at the Target House. ICC takes a group of volunteers the third Monday of each month in an effort to give kids a couple of hours to just "be a kid" and forget about the difficulties they are facing. Time at the Target House is one of the most rewarding experiences. Our ministry event begins at 6:00pm and will last no more than two hours. The Target House is located at 1811 Poplar Avenue in Midtown (38104). It is best to enter from the side entrance on McLean and proceed to the back of the building entrance.
